Malky playing down ex players
Cardiff face Ross McCormack today with the former City player in a rich vein of form.
Two weeks ago we had Michael Chopra come back to Cardiff and score so it likely that the 'rules of football' will mean McCormack does the same?
“It can mean that – or it can mean you have a beast of a game" said Malky Mackay.
“They have Andy Keogh too, but I don’t worry when you’re facing players up against their old side.
“We had Michael Chopra back here the other week when we played Ipswich and, unless we play someone like QPR and Jay Bothroyd in the cup, there won’t be any more press exposure and questions than we had with Chopra. Ultimately it’s just another couple of players who played here.
“I know from being a player myself there is a special, nice feeling when you go back and see guys you know.
“And I’m sure it will be good for them to say hello to those they played with. But I’m not sure if it adds any extra spice.”
Mackay hopes to lead his new look Cardiff side to a seventh consecutive victory over Utd. Cardiff have done the double over the Yorkshire rivals in each of the last three seasons the teams have played in the same division.
Leeds had been on a good run but that ended in midweek with defeat at Birmingham. Cardiff overcame their mini slump with back to back wins in the past week.
There will Twitter and Facebook updates during the game and reaction afterwards on this website and messageboard.
