Ledley close to Cardiff exit

Cardiff City look set to lose star midfielder Joe Ledley following reports that he is holding advanced talks with Stoke City over a move to the Premier League club.

The 23-year-old Wales international has been linked with several moves away from the City Stadium following the Bluebirds' failure to win promotion to the top-flight via the Championship play-off final last season.

Meanwhile, chief executive Gethin Jenkins has admitted that the club's players and staff did not receive their June wages on time.

The Welsh club escaped a winding-up petition at the High Court earlier this month and cancelled a pre-season tour to Malaysia on Tuesday.

"Following a delay in international currency transfers, players, staff etc at Cardiff City haven't been paid on the normal due date," confirmed Jenkins.

"However, it's anticipated that these matters will be resolved in the next day or so."
