Koumas makes Cardiff loan move
04 Aug 2010 - 21:01:36
Cardiff City have completed the season-long loan signing of Jason Koumas from Wigan Athletic.
The Welshman makes a return to the Welsh capital after he enjoyed a successful temporary spell at the club during the 2005/06 campaign where he made the Championship team of the year.
He started his career at Tranmere Rovers before making the switch to West Bromwich Albion in August 2002.
Wigan then came calling for his services in July 2007, but he has found his first-team opportunities restricted in recent times and Bluebirds chief executive Gethin Jenkins is delighted that he will link up with the team once again.
Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "We continue to work towards removing hurdles at the club and are working with the intention to come out of embargo ahead of the new season.
"During this time, Dave [Jones, manager] has presented targets including Jason Koumas as he looks to strengthen the squad.
"We are pleased to have agreed terms with Wigan and to welcome Jason back to Cardiff City."
