Jones welcomes Heaton loan

Cardiff City have agreed a one-year loan deal for Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The 22-year-old England Under-21 international has yet to feature for the Red Devils and will gain valuable experience during his time at Ninian Park.

Delighted City boss Dave Jones said: "When a club like Manchester United loan you a player, it means they believe in what you're trying to do.

"It means they trust the club and me as a manager to help their future stars develop. If Tom's move is a success, then we'll have a good chance of getting more players in the future.

"When the European champions, one of the best clubs in the world, send you a player, you know you're getting quality."
