Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has revealed his hands are tied in the transfer market until the club's financial future is resolved.
The Bluebirds will return to court in March to continue a long-running legal battle with financial backers Langston over a £24million loan.
Jones has been forced to operate with a threadbare squad for most of the season and could only name four substitutes on the bench for Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
However, unlike other Championship managers, Jones is unable to bolster his squad with any new signings until the court case is resolved.
"I could only name four subs because that's all we've got. I can't put a 15-year-old or 16-year-old out there who isn't ready," he said.
"We still had 11 fit players on the pitch and those 11 fit players should have done better than they did.
"It is the situation we are in until they sort out the court case. We can only get on with it and that is what we are doing.
"Four subs on the bench did not cost me the result."
