Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is hoping to write a new chapter in the club's history after reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
The Bluebirds earned their place in the last four with a fully-deserved 2-0 sixth-round victory at Premier League side Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The last time Cardiff reached the semi-final stage was when they last won the cup back in 1927 and Jones is hoping to silence talk of their previous exploits with a glorious new chapter in the club's history.
He said: "The win was thoroughly deserved and we performed fantastically.
"I don't think Middlesbrough can have any complaints. We knew if we played to our potential we would have a chance and we got what we deserved.
"I get 1927 rammed down my throat and now we've got the chance to make our own piece of history.
"They are a great bunch of lads and all we can do is continue do the business on the pitch.
"We were composed, did the right things and it is up there with the best performances since I've been here."
Jones also believes the achievement is even greater as the Championship club continue to be troubled by cash struggles and an impending court case brought by creditors.
"It is a great achievement for the club in light of what's happened off the football pitch and I'm sure the chairman will be happy," he added.
