Jones relishes Chopra return

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is delighted to have brought striker Michael Chopra back to the club on transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old has headed back to Ninian Park on loan from Sunderland, with a permanent deal in place for the end of the season.

Jones told the South Wales Echo: "It's a fantastic signing.

"After the signings of Chris Burke and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, it gives me the options that Reading, Sheffield United and Birmingham have in the Championship.

"We now have plenty of options for that final push.

"The chairman has worked hard over the weeks to get the players in that I wanted.

"Although I wanted two, I am delighted to get Michael and happy what I have to work with now."

Jones had also targeted Hibernian frontman Steven Fletcher and Motherwell striker Chris Porter, who chose to join Derby County instead.
