Cardiff City new boy Chris Burke has been backed to be a major success at Ninian Park by Bluebirds manager Dave Jones.
The 25-year-old Scotland international has left Rangers to try his luck in South Wales and Jones believes his club have secured a bargain.
He told Wales on Sunday: "Chris has played for only one club, Rangers, and at the highest level in Europe.
"He is a full international and we will give him a run of games to try and get his career on the move again, just as we did with Michael Chopra, Wayne Routledge and anybody else we've brought in.
"He is quick and skilful. We tried to sign him 18 months ago and could not get him then, but we kept tabs on him and now he has joined us.
"We are offering him a fresh challenge and a new start. If he delivers what he is capable of we will be extremely happy."
