Jones enjoying packed schedule

The Welsh outfit currently lead the Championship on goal difference after an unbeaten start to the campaign. The games continue to come thick and fast with the Bluebirds hosting Rovers, who themselves have enjoyed a positive start in League One. And while many managers are bemoaning such a busy August, Jones is refreshingly positive. "One or two people have pointed out to me that the Rovers tie means we will have seven competitive matches in August," he told his club's website. "My answer to that is obvious - we'd rather be in the Carling Cup than out of it. We'll deal with whatever comes our way." Midfielder Peter Whittingham is similarly upbeat. "I'm asked can we win it, and my answer is 'why not?', he said. "On our day we're a match for any team in the country. Let's go on in the Carling Cup and get those big days out like we had in the FA Cup a couple of seasons ago." Newcastle host Huddersfield at St James' Park in a match which sees former Magpies midfielder Lee Clark returning to Tyneside as a manager. Newcastle caretaker manager Chris Hughton, whose side played Huddersfield in a friendly which descended into a brawl earlier this summer, told nufcTV: "It will be a big test - we were able to witness the quality of Huddersfield during pre-season. "That was a very tight and very competitive game. "I think they will have a very good season and I fancy them for promotion. "Lee Clark will also want to come back to St James' Park and get a result so it all makes for a good game." Elsewhere on Wednesday, West Brom host Rotherham at The Hawthorns while Bristol City welcome Carlisle.
