Jones counts cost of victory

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was happy his side put their off-field problems behind them with a 2-0 win against Peterborough United, but his injury problems are mounting up.

The club have had a date at the Crown Court as they face a winding-up order, but the case has now been adjourned for 28 days.

Meanwhile, on the pitch goals from Chris Burke and Anthony Gerrard secured the three points but a trio of players picked up injuries in the Cardiff City Stadium clash.

Stephen McPhail went to hospital after taking a knock to his ribs, Jay Bothroyd suffered ankle ligament damage and Darcy Blake was forced off with a back problem.

With a FA Cup fifth-round meeting at Chelsea on the weekend, the Bluebirds could travel to the capital short of numbers.

Speaking to the club's official website, Jones said: "I haven't got a clue who's going to turn up on Saturday for Chelsea.

"We're short of numbers and all credit to the players, they are digging deep and the fans are appreciating it."
