Injury leaves Heaton gutted

Cardiff City's on-loan goalkeeper Tom Heaton is unlikely to play any football until the end of March after picking up a thigh injury in Monday's FA Cup defeat at Arsenal.

The 22-year-old has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a torn thigh muscle while first-choice keeper Peter Enckelman is already out for up to eight weeks after undergoing a knee operation earlier this month.

That leaves emergency loan keeper Dimi Konstantopoulos as the only senior shot-stopper available to manager Dave Jones.

"I'm absolutely gutted," Heaton told the South Wales Echo. "I've had to wait for my chance and now this happens."
