Heaton a hero despite loss
17 Feb 2009 - 16:17:42
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was full of praise for young goalkeeper Tom Heaton despite letting in four goals against Arsenal on Monday night.
First-choice keeper Peter Enckelman was injured while new signing Dimi Konstantopoulos was cup-tied, forcing Jones to use the Manchester United loanee.
"If it wasn't for Tom Heaton then it would have been a cricket score. He kept us in the game at times and made some fantastic saves," said an angry Jones after the defeat.
"Still, this wasn't the Cardiff we've seen all season. You have to give full credit to Arsenal because sometimes you come to places like this and suffer and we suffered for 90 minutes.
"We didn't do ourselves any justice."
