Fuming McCormack 'happy' at City
Published : 04 Aug 2009 16:42:00
The Scotland international's future has become a hotly debated topic this summer and he has recently been linked with Hull City. Shortly after penning a new four-year deal back in July it was suggested McCormack had handed in a transfer request, something that was later denied by the 22-year-old. However, he did admit to having concerns over his position at the club which could lead to him looking for first-team football elsewhere. Hull and Portsmouth subsequently expressed an interest although nothing has yet materialised. When asked about a move to the KC Stadium, McCormack was on Tuesday quoted as saying "I would definitely be interested" and that Cardiff's £5million valuation "is pricing people out of the market", sparking further confusion over his future. But he has moved to clear up the matter, telling Cardiff's official website: "I don't know where those quotes have been dug up from. Everyone seems to think I don't care about Cardiff and I want to leave, but that's not the case. I'm happy here, so is my fiancee, and we're looking for a new house. "The fans here have been brilliant and it's killing me they are reacting as if I want to leave as soon as I can. I'm happy and not planning to go anywhere. I'm upset at these reports but everyone knows the situation, I had a conversation with the chairman and said that if a Premier League club came in for me, I'd like the chance to speak to them. There was no transfer request."
