Court victory for Bluebirds

Cardiff City's future finally looks secure after the winding-up order placed on the club three weeks ago was dismissed on Wednesday following a High Court ruling.

The order, imposed by her Majesty's Revenue & Customs as a result of failing to pay off debts, had given the club 70 days to settle the matter.

However, following an agreement between the club and the indebted party - the Langston Corporation - about the repayment of £15million, the matter was declared settled.

"We can confirm that the High Court today formally dismissed the winding up order that had previously been brought by HMRC," a Cardiff City statement read.

With details of the settlement between the club and Langston, which are owned by former Bluebirds chairman Sam Hammam, under wraps, City fans are likely to remain uncertain over their club's future despite this initial victory with the courts.
