City monitor Ledley injury

Cardiff City have confirmed that midfield ace Joe Ledley continues to be hampered by a hip injury which will necessitate surgery in the future.

The 22-year-old Wales international lasted just over an hour of the 1-0 weekend win over Preston North End and was forced to miss the 2-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday evening.

A club spokesman told BBC Sport: "The club knows he will need an operation, possibly before the end of the season.

"Joe had a scan on Monday on the injury he suffered on Saturday and that found he had done nothing to worsen the condition.

"He was looked at again on Tuesday and will be fit and available for Sunday."
