Cardiff to offer free season tickets

In return for buying their season tickets for the 2010/11 season in advance, fans will be reimbursed should the club gain promotion. City boss Dave Jones came up with the novel idea to give him some transfer funds for the January transfer window. The club hope that around 10,000 fans will take part, providing Jones with £3m towards a transfer kitty. Jones has recently said he is keen to strengthen his squad and has received backing for the scheme from chairman Peter Ridesdale. "We are in the best position to earn promotion than for many a year," he told the South Wales Echo. "We need to know where we are coming from in terms of money available to spend on players. Money in now will allow us to spend. We will back Dave."
