Cardiff shun Johnson offers

Cardiff City are believed to have rebuffed a second offer from Birmingham City for central defender Roger Johnson.

The 26-year-old was the subject on an initial £3.5million bid from the Blues, but the Bluebirds are adamant that Johnson will cost a lot more than that.

The South Wales Echo quoted a Birmingham source as saying: "We put in a bid for £3.5million two weeks ago for Johnson, who we rate highly.

"But we were told he is not for sale at any price. It's a starting bid but we have had little encouragement coming back from Cardiff.

"We were told that the price was well below what they rated the player."
