Cardiff City have been given permission to talk to Chris Porter after agreeing a fee for the striker with Motherwell.
Porter, 25, is out of contract at the Scottish Premier League this summer and has already rejected a £200,000 move to League One side Huddersfield Town during the January transfer window.
However, the Bluebirds are believed to have tabled a bid of around £400,000 for the former Bury and Oldham Athletic frontman and he is now set for talks with the Championship promotion hopefuls.
"We have received a bid from Cardiff for Chris and it is now up to the lad to decide if he wants to go," Well boss Mark McGhee told BBC Scotland.
Porter, who has scored nine goals this season, has also been strongly linked with a move to Hearts.
