Cardiff City have completed the £300,000 signing of striker Jay Bothroyd from Championship rivals Wolves.
The 26-year-old still had another 12 months of his current Molineux deal still to run, but was allowed to move on to try and secure regular first-team football.
City boss Dave Jones told the Western Mail: "I think Jay would be a great acquisition for us and we're still on the look-out for more.
"He's had maybe one or two seasons where people say he's not fulfilled his potential. Hopefully, we can turn that around for him.
"We seem to be a club that thrives on doing that with players. I think he's a quality player and he'd give us something we haven't got and will bring great competition."
Bothroyd had struggled to make his mark with Wolves following his arrival from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2006.
