Bothroyd injury boost for Bluebirds
Bothroyd tore a knee muscle in City's 2-0 defeat at Doncaster last weekend but, despite initial fears he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the striker is recovering well. The 6ft 3in marksman has been a vital part of Cardiff's attack this season and manager Dave Jones is confident he will run out against the Magpies. "It's not too serious and we will nurse Jay through the next few days and see how he is early next week," he told the South Wales Echo. "The signs are that he will be okay to play against Newcastle. We will wait and see how he progresses, but we hope he will be okay."
