Cardiff City have beaten Championship rivals Stoke City to the signature of former England international Trevor Sinclair.
The 34-year-old was expected to sign for the Potters after holding talks at the Britannia Stadium but has opted to sign for the Bluebirds.
Sinclair was available on a free transfer following his release by Manchester City at the end of last season.
"We're delighted to add Trevor to the squad. He's a former England international and has experience at the top level, which is important to us," Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale told the club's official website.
"Trevor will add value and depth to the team and will give us more quality as we try to build a team that can operate at the right end of the Championship."
