Bluebirds to bolster firepower
24 Jun 2008 - 11:37:53
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed that the club are looking to strengthen their strikeforce before the start of next season.
The Bluebirds have already landed Swindon Town defender Miguel Comminges and on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton this summer, while Paul Parry, Glenn Loovens, Peter Whittingham and Roger Johnson are all expected to pen new contracts with the club.
Ridsdale says that is not the end of the squad strengthening plans though, telling the club's official website: "We've spoken to four clubs about players and we'll hopefully start bidding this week and maybe bring two new players to the club.
"We want to add the firepower that was missing last season and make a good push for promotion to the Premier League in our last season at Ninian Park.
"The possibility of agreeing a deal for Kris (Boyd) isn't dead but we're pursuing other targets at the moment."
