Bluebirds swoop for Cox

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has snapped up the veteran Watford defender Neil Cox.

The 33-year-old is hoping his experience will help some of the younger players at Ninian Park and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career.

"I spoke to Neal Ardley on Tuesday and he told me there may be a little bit of interest in me," the former Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Bolton full-back told the club's official website.

"In the afternoon the manager rang me and the deal was done in about half-an-hour.

"The manager has brought me in for my experience. I've played over 500 games so hopefully the experience of the more senior players can help the youngsters in the Cardiff side. It's another challenge for me and I'm looking forward to it."
