Bluebirds snub Hull's McCormack bid
Published : 07 Aug 2009 10:34:41
An opening offer believed to be in the region of £3million has been deemed too low for the 22-year-old, who joined the Championship club for just £120,000 last summer. Bluebirds boss Dave Jones is now holding out for closer to £4million for the Scottish international as the club look for a massive profit on the player who netted 21 league goals last term. However, Brown feels his offer is sufficient enough and has vowed not to up the bid but remains hopeful that a deal can still be struck. "We've made our move, we've put a bid in for Ross McCormack but the bid has been rejected" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "Hopefully we can agree terms between the two clubs and the player still but we won't raise what we've bid because we think it's a good offer. "He's a player who cost them a hundred grand a year ago and scored 23 goals in the Championship. We believe their valuation now is too high." McCormack has made public his desire to leave the club for the Premiership and has risked the wrath of the home fans as Cardiff host Scunthorpe on Saturday in their Championship season opener.
