Bluebirds launch Purse appeal

Cardiff City have decided to launch an appeal after Darren Purse was sent off during the 1-0 defeat at QPR.

The appeal will be heard by the Football Association of Wales this week.

Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "I've talked it through with Dave Jones and we both agree we must appeal.

"Neither of us believe Darren deserved to be sent off. It was a challenge which had to be made and he had his eyes on the ball all the time."

Jones has had a change of heart as, immediately after the game he had said: "What's the point - you don't get any joy."
