Bluebirds clinch two deals

Cardiff City have completed the double signing of Gavin Rae from Glasgow Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday's Steven MacLean.

Midfielder Rae, 29, has moved to the Bluebirds after an injury-plagued three-and-a-half year spell at Ibrox, while striker MacLean, 24, has joined on a free transfer from the Owls.

"Cardiff City can officially confirm the signings of Gavin Rae and Steven MacLean," confirmed a club statement.

"The Bluebirds had to fight off stiff competition for the pair and are delighted that they have agreed terms."

Meanwhile, Cardiff boss Dave Jones has revealed a new goalkeeper is next on his summer shopping list.

He told the club's official website: "We have only one experienced keeper at present in David Forde, so we obviously need another one - possibly two.

"But there are other positions where we need to put people under pressure for their places too."
