Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has made Plymouth Argyle midfielder Tony Capaldi his first signing of the summer.
The 25-year-old Northern Ireland international came through the youth team ranks at Birmingham City but moved to Home Park four years ago having failed to make a first-team appearance for the Blues.
He played in 154 games for the Pilgrims and was an ever-present in Ian Holloway's team this season.
Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale told the club's official website: "The signing of Tony is an important one for the club.
"We had to be clever and move fast to secure his services and fought off some serious competition.
"We're very pleased that we've managed to make the first signing of our new summer programme."
