Bellamy issues promotion warning
23 Aug 2010 - 11:11:15
Craig Bellamy has urged Cardiff City supporters not to expect a one-man promotion show.
Bellamy shone on his debut after scoring in Saturday's 4-0 rout of Doncaster Rovers in front of a sell-out crowd at the City Stadium.
The Wales striker has been tipped to fire the Bluebirds into the Premier League after stepping down a division from Manchester City to join his hometown club on a season-long loan.
However, Bellamy claims it will be a united effort if City are to finally win promotion to the top-flight this season.
He explained: "I can't get Cardiff promoted on my own. I'm not a good enough player to do that.
"We've got a lot of very good players at this club and they've all got to step up to the plate.
"I've played in this division before with Norwich and it hasn't changed. There are no favourites because anyone can beat anyone.
"But we've got a really good chance because we've got people who can score goals and change games like Michael Chopra, Jay Bothroyd, Chris Burke and Peter Whittingham.
"I can have an off-day, but if that happens we've got other players who can win games for us."
