Alexander wants more

Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Alexander has called on the Bluebirds to bolster their squad to ensure their promotion tilt remains on track.

City have been beaten twice in their last three games and Alexander feels his side need the boost of some fresh faces to maintain their position at the head of the Championship.

He told the Western Mail: "I think it's essential one or two new faces are brought in this week.

"The lads we've got have been doing a fantastic job keeping us at the top of the league, but people can get tired.

"Some are having to play through niggly injuries and taking things like suspensions into consideration, it's very important to add to our squad.

"I know the manager is working very hard in this direction. He's on the phone all day every day at the moment trying to do deals, but it's not as easy as people think to get the right players."
