Will the manager be on the retained list?

We are expecting to find out this week the official retained list and a statement on the future of the manager. It's widely expected that no deals are on the table for the out of contract players. We know already that Adam Matthews is going to Celtic, Gavin Rae has had his leaving party (at TGI Fridays complete with an altercation between a member of the public and the players). Chris Burke and Jay Bothroyd are now both out of contract and both are now free agents. Burke could possibly move back to Scotland and Jay will be hoping for a move to the Premier League. All the loan players are now ex Cardiff City players and have left the club. Of those, negotiations have taken place to re-sign Craig Bellamy. I can see no possible future with City for Stephen Bywater, Jason Brown, Jlloyd Samuel, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or Jason Koumas and I'm not sure if the club will look to try and get Seyi Olofinjana back to Cardiff City Stadium. One player coming back to us is Anthony Gerrard after his load at Hull where he was named their Player of the Year. Gerrard is in contract along with the rest of the squad. After falling out with Dave Jones last summer it would seem unlikely that Gerrard would want to stay if DJ stays and the same for Gabor Gyepes (see previous article). So remaining under contract are: David Marshall, Tom Heaton, Kevin McNaughton, Paul Quinn, Darcy Blake, Lee Naylor, Dekel Keinan, Mark Hudson, Gabor Gyepes, Steve McPhail, Peter Whittingham, Michael Chopra, Jon Parkin and Anthony Gerrard. I'm not exactly sure of the situation with the junior squad members like Martin John, Jordan Santiago, Nat Jarvis etc. We also have Aaron Wildig who has been on loan at Hamilton. The official announcement is expected at any time. It's expected a decision will be made on the future of the manager this week. Both the club and Dave Jones will have had a week to think about things and there are suggestions there will be a meeting possibly on Tuesday to decide what happens next. The decision on the manager and the appointment of a new one if thats the way it goes will be important as far as building the squad for next season goes. The sooner the club make a statement one way or the other the better. Jones' position is extremely vulnerable and also the backroom staff. The general feeling is that we need a proper clear out and start again with a new management team. It should be an interesting week.
