Why Matt Jarvis Would be a Brilliant Signing for Cardiff City

Reports out of South Wales today claim that Cardiff City have made an ambitious bid for West Ham winger Matt Jarvis.

The 28 year old Englishman has only played six times this season and has been rumoured to be looking for a move away.

According to the Daily Mail West Brom are also interested but Cardiff are the frontrunners as The Baggies are also looking to sign Wigan winger Callum McManaman.

The Pacey winger moved to West Ham for £11 million from Wolves just three years ago and has even got one cap for England.

Jarvis would be the perfect fit for Russell Slade’s system. He’s got some traits but the two that stand out are his crossing and his pace, both of which are exactly what Slade’s system is about.

He is a lot better than Championship quality in my opinion but a Cardiff are a club with ambitions to get back into the top flight so he may not have to wait too long before he’s back in the top flight.

Russell Slade has already added to his today with The Bluebirds confirming that Crystal Palace midfielder Stuart O’Keefe has put pen to paper.

Also in Cardiff news, Juan Cala, who was released from Cardiff two months ago, has signed for Getafe.
