Whittingham keen to sign deal

Peter Whittingham insists he will be a relieved man when he puts pen to paper on a new contract with Cardiff and ends speculation over his future. The midfielder, who bagged a staggering 25 goals last term, sees his current deal expire at the end of this season and was heavily linked with a move away from the Welsh capital over the summer, with Nottingham Forest leading the chase for his services. But Whittingham has revealed a fresh contract is close to being finalised. He told Cardiff City Player: "We`re sorting out a contract at the minute and once that`s all done I`ll be signing. "I`ll be pretty relieved to sign to be honest after all the stuff that`s happened with other clubs - people thinking I`m not at training and I`m at other places. "I`ll just be relieved to put pen to paper and be signing."
