He told the South Wales Echo: "I think the manager would take credit for my Barnsley display. I had been out for quite a while and I just wasn't right at Southampton and the gaffer had a go at me.
"He gave me a bit of a talking to before the Barnsley game and told me what I was capable of. I was happy with my general performance against Barnsley.
"I got an assist and a goal and will see what the gaffer will do on Saturday. But I was a lot happier with my performance on Tuesday.
"I think if Chris Burke was fit he would have played instead of me against Barnsley and I would have had no complaints. But I thought I had a decent game and it will give the manager something to think about before the Doncaster game on Saturday."
