Wales set to announce Scotland clash
The Football Association of Wales council have agreed for the match to go ahead, and all that is needed now is for minor financial matters to be agreed with their Scottish counterparts.
The match is expected to draw a 27,000 full house to Cardiff's impressive new ground, opposite their former Ninian Park home.
The FAW have been looking for a new venue to take matches away from the vast Millennium Stadium in the city, where a 27,000 crowd would be lost in the 78,000-capacity national venue.
It will be the first time the two home nations have met since
Wales won 4-0 in front of 47,000 fans at the Millennium Stadium in February 2004 when Robert Earnshaw scored a hat-trick in a side that included Ryan Giggs, Gary Speed and Robbie Savage.
Wales' squad assembled on Tuesday for the World Cup qualifiers in Finland on Saturday and Liechtenstein next Wednesday.
Midfielder Joe Ledley will be assessed as the week progresses. The Cardiff man is suffering from a pelvic injury, but Wales hope he will be available for one of the two matches.
The same applies to West Ham's Danny Gabbidon, who has a calf problem that has stopped him training for a fortnight. Wales want to include him in their plans with a view to him playing against Liechtenstein.
The FAW have also confirmed under-21s coach Brian Flynn has agreed a new two-year contract through to 2012, the same time that national boss John Toshack has already intimated he will retire from the post.
