The initial month ended after City's 2 - 1 win at Ashton Gate over Bristol City on Saturday.
It was hoped he would stay until the end of the season but Newcastle have called him back.
Hopefully this will be just temporary and Vuckic will be able to return to cardiff ASAP.
Vuckic appeared in five games and scored one goal.
"He's going to be involved in their game against Arsenal (tonight) and then it will be re-assessed," said Malky Mackay.
Will he be coming back?
"It's something we definitely want to happen. It's something I know Haris wants to happen." Malky continued.
"And I also know Alan [Pardew, Newcastle manager] wants it to happen as well.
"It will just be dependent on the health of his squad in the next few days."
