Trio may return for Bluebirds

Boss Dave Jones hopes his injury-hit ranks will receive a timely boost ahead of the trip to Ipswich having seen his fatigued squad lose their unbeaten record at Leicester in midweek. The Bluebirds were without as many as five key players for the 2-1 defeat at the Walkers Stadium after which Jones admitted: "If I get two of the five back for Ipswich I'd be happy." Strikers Craig Bellamy (knee) and Jay Bothroyd (calf) and midfielder Seyi Olofinjana (thigh) are all likely to undergo late fitness tests and could feature at Portman Road. But Danny Drinkwater (thigh) and Michael Chopra (ankle) will definitely miss out against a Town side who also saw their unbeaten start to the season undone in midweek courtesy of a 3-0 reverse at home to early league leaders QPR.
