Three games, three cup finals

With City a point behind Norwich now and the likliehood that the Canaries are not going to give away points lightly then Cardif have three matches that they surely must win. It starts tomorrow at Preston. The home side are on the verge of relegation. Defeat at home to the Bluebirds and a win for Crystal Palace will see Preston down. There will be few Cardiff fans who care little about that as long as City win. Preston humiliated Dave Jones' side two years ago and captured the final play off place. It started with a 6 - 0 win at Deepdale with Cardiff managing just one point from the last 12, Preston won their last four games to edge City out on goals scored. Norwich are at home to Derby. Could Robbie Savage lead his side to another spolier as he did against QPR last week? Surely Norwich must be feeling some pressure. Reading could also have a say, they are three behind Cardiff, four behind Norwich. They are at home to Sheffield Utd. A home win would keep them in with a chance of automatic promotion and could confirm Utd's relegation dependent on how Crystal Palace get on. With Swansea 6 points behind Norwich I think the Jacks must concentrate on securing a play off place rather than hold onto any outside hope of an automatic promotion spot. They should have no problem seeing off the useless Ipswich Town. Should Cardiff get a win at Deepdale then next week will be very interesting. Cardiff face Middlesbrough on Bank Holiday Monday at home to Middlesbrough (5.15pm). Norwich actually play after that with a 7:45pm kick off away at Portsmouth. Again it's all ifs but Norwich could find themselves kicking off against Pompey needing a win to reclaim 2nd or stay in contention. Again I mention, they must be feeling the pressure. Surely they can't win every game. If they do then hats off to them. The final day sees Cardiff away at Burnley while Norwich entertain Coventry.
