Tax man sharpening his knives again

Pressure is building on City to pay their latest tax demand on time. A high court date has been provisionally booked for August 11th in case the club miss the next payment.It's a testing time for City with negative news breaking everyday it it seems - wages late, cancelled trips, fears that we will now be under another transfer embargo with this latest High Court threat.Chief executive Gethin Jenkins told the News of the World: "HMRC has launched a petition in the event we don't pay the PAYE bill. We are confident of settling it in the next couple of days."City start their pre season campaign on Thursday away at Bath City, ko 7:00pm. At the time of writing the club only have two more confirmed matches after that - Notts County away on July 24th and Deportivo at home on July 31st, both games 3:00pm kick offs. The new season kicks off for City on Sunday August 8th with a Sky televised home game against Sheffield Utd, ko 12:35pm.
