Sponsorship deal thrills Bluebirds

The Bluebirds started the season without a shirt sponsor but after chairman Peter Ridsdale's second visit to the Far East the club agreed a deal with 777ball. However, their agreement lasted for just one match after it emerged the company did not have a European licence, forcing both parties to call time on the contract. SBOBET, current sponsors of West Ham, have now been drafted in and will see their logo on Cardiff shirts for the first time when Derby arrive in the Welsh capital on Tuesday night. Ridsdale told the club's official website: "In these challenging times it is very pleasing the club has secured a sponsorship contract with such a significant partner as SBOBET. "We look forward to working with SBOBET, who are making a most meaningful contribution to enabling Cardiff City to realise our considerable potential. Our new relationship also underlines the fact that Cardiff City, which has grown massively as a club in recent years, is in a position to attract major sponsors."
