Scunny clash brings in new era

17 June 2009 10:07
The Bluebirds will be hoping the new chapter in the club's history begins better than the last one ended, a 3-0 defeat to Ipswich in the last ever game at Ninian Park on April 25. Dave Jones' men face back-to-back away fixtures against Blackpool (August 15) and Plymouth (August 18) before hosting Bristol City four days later. A trip to Doncaster on August 29 is followed by a crunch home clash with Newcastle on September 12, with the Magpies visiting Wales five months later on February 6. And Cardiff will be looking to earn the bragging rights with victories in the two big Welsh derbies against Swansea, which are set to take place on November 7 (away) and April 3 (home). The Bluebirds will host Plymouth on Boxing Day before ending the year with a trip to Peterborough (December 28), while Jones' men are set to begin 2010 with a home clash against Blackpool (January 9).
