Scimeca keen to sign new City deal

The 33-year-old has only started two league games this season due to injury and the impressive form of fellow midfielders Joe Ledley, Stephen McPhail, Paul Parry and Gavin Rae. Nevertheless Scimeca sees his future at Ninian Park, whichever division they find themselves in next season, and hopes to join Mark Kennedy in signing a new deal. "I would love to stay with Cardiff and I am in talks with the manager and chairman (Peter Ridsdale)," Scimeca told the South Wales Echo. "I had a bad time when I was out injured, but now I feel back to where I was before that. I'm feeling good, I've been in full training for a while and I will be ready when needed. "It's frustrating for every footballer when you are not playing regularly. We are all in this together, though, and our aim is to earn promotion to the Premier League."
