Ridsdale welcomes FAW decision

The incident marred last month's derby clash against Swansea. Referee Mike Dean was struck by a coin thrown from the crowd during the first half of the encounter on April 5 and had to receive medical attention to a cut on his forehead. A man was swiftly ejected from Ninian Park and banned by Cardiff for life, and it is due to the club's swift response and their co-operation with South Wales Police that they have not been the subject of any further action by the FAW. The Association may make an official announcement on Tuesday, with Cardiff also set to send out a statement. But Bluebirds chairman Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo: "We have had full and written confirmation from the FAW there will be no further action. The FAW have said we took all possible steps we could reasonably take to ensure that type of incident did not occur. "They also took into account our swift action to ban the offender when he was identified. You can not possibly legislate for every little incident, but we are and will remain vigilant to ensure we do everything possible to do so."
