Ridsdale happy with summer dealings

The Bluebirds made seven signings over the close season at a total cost of around £6.3million, while three players departed the Welsh capital to recoup around £5.3m. Cardiff's activity made them the biggest spenders in the Championship over the summer months and Ridsdale insists it has given manager Dave Jones a platform on which to achieve the club's Premier League dream. "I am delighted with the rebuilding work myself and Dave have carried out to the squad during the summer," the chairman told the South Wales Echo. "I feel now we have cover across every position on the pitch and that is exactly what we were aiming for. "I believe in the seven players we have brought in we have seven quality players. You could have more players in the squad, but for the money we have spent you would not have the same quality and that is what we will always go for. "As well as those who have arrived the players again coming up through the club's academy provide other opportunities. Adam Matthews and Josh Magennis have both made the step up and are very exciting prospects. I believe we have a squad assembled now which can have a successful campaign in the Championship."
