Ramsey masterclass on return to Cardiff

Two goals and a man of the match performance from the former Bluebird.

Ramsey scored with a header in the first half and comleted the scoring when he finished a box to box break in injury time. In between Matthew Flamini scored Arsenal's 2nd.

Ramsey was the darling of the crowd and his muted celebrations when he scored led to the home supporters applauding his reaction to scoring. It was quite something to see the whole stadium applauding an opposition player.

After scoring his second goal Ramsey did the ayatollah when asked and he was cheered by all parts of the groud at the final whistle.

Arsenal were the calssiest team to visit CCS this year and were good value for their lead. Cardiff kept in touch though and if either of Fraiser Campbell's headers had levelled the scored it might have ended differently. Campbells first chance in the first half was headed wide, his seasond after the break produced a stunning save from Wojciech Szczesny.

With a midfield including Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere Arsenal are going to beat most teams this season. Cardiff gave them a game and the two late goals made the scoreline a little harsh on City.

There was further mutal respect from the supporters when Cardiff fans applauded the Arsenal fans chants of 'there's only one Pat Rice'. Rice, an Arsenal legend and Arsene Wenger's former assistant was diagnosed with cancer this week.

The defeat dropped City to 17th place, three points above the relegation places.

Cardiff now face an away trip to Stoke on Wednesday. The Potters are level on points with City and Crystal Palace who are bottom the table, six points behind the Bluebirds next Saturday.
