QPR march on but everyone else fails

City have been handed the chance again to retake 2nd spot in the Championship. Another day of fumbling and stumbling by the chasing pack yesterday started with Swansea's Ashley Williams scoring an o.g. that was the base for their 2 - 1 defeat at Derby. Nottingham Forest failed to win for the 6th game in a row after a 0 - 0 draw at home to Doncaster and free-scoring Leeds were also held to a goalless draw at home by Ipswich. Burnley started the day 5 points behind City with 2 games in hand but they were thumped 3 - 0 at home by Millwall. Q.P.R. did win and they have opened up a 10 point lead at the top. Cardiff can reduce that to 9 points if they beat Barnsley today. The failure of the teams in 2nd - 7th place to maintain any sort of consistency is virtually handing the title to the West London club. Cardiff have the chance today to emerge from back to back defeats and take second place for 24 hours at least. Norwich could take it back when they face Bristol City at Carrow Rd on Monday evening. The second automatic promotion place is there waiting for the team that has the guts to grab it and hold onto it. Cardiff have a chance to be that team. They must go out today and show belief and determination to want automatic promotion by beating Barnsley. Come on City.
