Players escaped wrath of Jones

A crowd of 19,129 arrived in party mood for the final ever regular league fixture at the famous old ground, but they left somewhat subdued after Ipswich cut the Bluebirds down to size.[LNB]Jones was ready to lay into his charges in the dressing room after the full-time whistle but the players were required to see some fireworks of a different nature out on the pitch.[LNB]"I was ready to really let fly - I wanted to rip into them," said Jones in the South Wales Echo. "It's a good job we had to go back out onto the pitch. I felt like killing one or two of them - maybe more.[LNB]"Our last three games have been disappointing and maybe some of that is down to fatigue and players not being honest with us."[LNB]Cardiff still need a point to be sure of a top-six finish and Jones added: "The players have done a superb job over the season and it's been a long haul. The job now is to make sure of that play-off spot at Sheffield Wednesday. That remains in our hands."[LNB][LNB]
