Cardiff City manager Russell Slade looks to have avoided all the drama of transfer deadline day but wrapping up his business on the penultimate day of the window.

In a flurry of news that came out of the club in just under an hour the Bluebirds announced that two players will be departing the club and one player had joined.

The first to leave the Welsh capital was Spanish striker Javi Guerra who returned to his homeland to play for Rayo Vallecano de Madrid on permanent basis.

Guerra joined Cardiff from Real Valladolid but only made 3 first team appearances before being loaned out to Malaga where he scored 5 goals.

Guerra was quoted as saying "I'd like to thank Cardiff City Football Club and Tan Sri Vincent Tan for bringing me to the UK and giving me an opportunity.

"I'd like to wish Cardiff City the very best for the future and I thank Ken Choo and Russell Slade for helping to facilitate my move to Rayo Vallecano."

The second player to depart the club today is Etien Velikonja who has joined Belgian side Lierse S.K. On a season long loan for a second time. Velikonja had previously signed for Lierse on a six month loan in January 2015 and will now stay there until June 30th next year.

Finally, Cardiff City have confirmed the signing of 23 year-old French striker Idriss Saadi from Clermont for an undisclosed fee.

The former France under 19 international has signed a three year contract and becomes the Bluebirds fourth signing of the summer after Sammy Ameobi, Semi Ajayi and Gabriel Tamas.

Saadi scored 18 goals last season before picking up an ACL injury that ruled him out for 6 months but has made one appearance this season in the French second tier, scoring a goal in the process.
