The Obsever today chose Jay Bothroyd as their featured player on their Championship stats page. Part of their feature includes a couple of paragraphs from a Cty fan.Yours truly did the honours for today's paper. The article is featured in the paper itself and online.Click here to see it.The lowdownAt 28, the Islington-born Bothroyd has had eight clubs in a nomadic career. Highly rated at Arsenal, he was sold aged 18 to Coventry after throwing his shirt at the bench following his substitution in a youth game. Since then, he's never quite fulfilled his potential, but the striker is enjoying a fine season at Cardiff. Ten goals in 11 games is nothing to be sniffed at, including the opener against Norwich yesterday, and with Cardiff looking a good bet for promotion he could have another shot at the big time. View from the terraceDave Jones has brought the best out of Bothroyd, despite the occasional "attitude" problem, which has seen him pick up several silly bookings. We now have a complete centre-forward. He oozes class and has scored the goals to back it up as well. Other clubs might fear Bellamy, but Jay is the assassin in City's team and the fans love him for it. His two goals against Leeds sum him up. One poached from nothing and one finishing a quality end-to-end move. A Premier League (and international) striker in waiting.Michael Morris, CardiffCity-Mad.co.uk
