The Dutchman has made just 13 Scottish Premier League starts and four substitute appearances since swapping Cardiff for Glasgow last August in a £2.5million deal. Loovens, 25, pulled on the Bluebirds shirt over 110 times during his three years with the club but, as he prepares to line up for Celtic in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night to mark the official opening of the new Cardiff City Stadium, he is adamant his switch north of the border was the right decision. He told the South Wales Echo: "When I moved from Cardiff to the Scottish Premier League it was the right time. I don't regret it as moving is part of football. But I always look out for Cardiff's results. "I still have many friends in South Wales and I have nothing but good memories of Cardiff, Ninian Park and the club's supporters." Speaking about Wednesday's encounter, he added: "I'm really looking forward to the occasion and being part of what will be an historic event. It will be great to be back at Cardiff and playing against Championship players."
