No Cardiff investment for Sullivan

Reports had emerged that the multi-millionaire Birmingham co-owner was preparing to put money into his hometown club once Carson Yeung's proposed takeover at St Andrew's has been completed. Sullivan is understood to be keen on an immediate return to the game as soon as the deal goes through - with Cardiff and West Ham rumoured to be possible suitors. The Bluebirds would certainly welcome the added investment to ease some of their debt. But having spoken to Sullivan's advisors, chairman Ridsdale told BBC Sport: "I asked someone who is close to David Sullivan to speak to him. I was told the stories are not true and he had no interest in investing in Cardiff City Football Club. "But if David, like any other interested party, wants to invest in Cardiff City then all he has to do is ring me up and talk to me. Anyone that comes in with a big enough chequebook can be the next owner of Cardiff City Football Club - but clearly it would have to be at the right price." The Cardiff chief will return to Malaysia on Tuesday to continue talks with Far East magnate Dato Chan Tien Ghee over possible investment.
